Petal's approach to washroom solutions helps reposition Blanchardstown as a premier retail venue.
Petal’s full height Line Ultra WC cubicles and solid surface vanity troughs helped to reposition Blanchardstown Shopping Centre as a ‘premier’ commercial venue. Part of a nine million Euro upgrade, the project involved a revitalisation of the internal appearance and functionality of the venue, and when it came to washroom facilities, Petal stepped up to the mark to ensure both boxes were firmly ticked for this client, one of Ireland’s leading retail locations.
With a footfall of over 16 million customers per year, a high-performance washroom specification was required. Due to high volumes of traffic, due consideration was taken when choosing cubicles, wall paneling and vanities in particular, to ensure they would cope with the increased demand placed upon them.
Petal worked alongside Lafferty Architects and Graham Interior Fit-Out to provide a Line Ultra cubicle solution in 20mm CGL in a woodgrain finish for doors and pilasters with 12mm CGL divisions. P300 APS wall paneling was manufactured to suit the vanity unit as well as the impressive perimeter wall lining. The system provides a dramatic aesthetic to both the male and female washroom areas due to the sheer number of cubicles in each set of facilities.
Solid surface trough units with integral upstands and removable under paneling in matching compact grade laminate provide an attractive vanity area, which is finished with 6mm thick safety mirrors mounted above the vanity units. The addition of separate grooming stations in the female toilets help avoid congestion at these washing facilities.
All elements throughout the project were both manufactured and installed by Petal, giving a seamless solution to the client from project inception right through to completion. Petal worked with Graham Interior Fit-Out to ensure all of this was completed whilst the centre was still in operation, installing products during quieter periods to ensure minimum disruption to shoppers.
