Robust systems for a Demanding Leisure Environment
Petal’s high performance Sprint cubicles provide the durability required for the demanding damp and warm conditions of any leisure setting. This particular project involved a £15m investment at Brook Leisure Centre, Dunmurry, including a spacious gym, sports hall and 3G pitches. In a first for the Colin area, the centre also includes a 4 lane swimming pool which, with its sensory lighting and sounds, makes this the largest sensory pool across the UK and Ireland.
Petal’s involvement in this project completed a trio of leisure projects simultaneously with Heron Brothers and McAdam design – with Andersonstown and Lisnasharragh centres being the others. Although the same solutions were specified across each project, care was taken to ensure there were unique elements to each one, giving a differing user experience.
As well as Sprint cubicles for changing village and WC areas, Petal also installed APS 300 Duct Access Panelling. This 12mm thick high performance panelling with soft radiused edges is designed for use in wet environments requiring a high degree of robustness, making it the ideal choice for this leisure environment.
Solid surface vanity units achieved a streamlined look across the project with bench seating and coatrails also included to complete the installation.
