Robust washroom solutions for busy school sports hall environment
Petal’s range of high performance washroom solutions were specified across a number of areas of this renovation project for a high profile private school facility in Ashtead, Surrey. Thor cubicles, access panels and Action benches and lockers provided a durable yet stylish finish, with matching grooming stations and vanity units completing the look. With Petal’s 10 year warranty on the Thor range, the client was assured of a system that would live out the ‘Design that Lasts’ ethos.
This project, led by Hawkins Brown architects and main contractor Gilbert Ash, involved 4 phases in total, to include new boarding accommodation for 60 pupils, a music school including practice rooms and a recital hall, sports facilities including changing rooms and sports pitches, a new swimming pool, refurbishment of the Grade II Listed House, a playground for the junior school and landscaping of the grounds.
Petal’s remit involved the installation of washroom solutions for both the sports facilities and the Main Hall. The overall design brief was to provide spaces which would enable the school to provide high quality teaching facilities whilst reflecting the sensitive domestic setting in Surrey, and the use of Lime Green CGL finish complemented the natural look design across this phase of the project.
A hard wearing finish in any educational setting is important, but when adding a sporting environment into the mix it becomes ever more pertinent. Petal’s Thor cubicles with their integrated head rail, three hinges per door and integral leg provide exactly the core stability required for such challenging conditions. The use of CGL throughout ensures water resistance and prevents any unsightly warping or peeling of material.
