Stylish Inline Finish for Major University Project

The construction of the new Ulster University Belfast campus represents the most significant regeneration project the city has seen since 1988 and forms a significant departure for the university in its move from Jordanstown into the heart of Belfast city centre. This new campus is set to deliver a progressive student experience, with innovative learning spaces and state-of-the-art living accommodation all integral to this expansive construction project.

Block BA of this project involved the specification of a range of Petal products, including cubicles, duct access panels and vanities.

Elan glass cubicles provide the idea performance and versatility for an education setting whilst achieving the aesthetic desirable for such a modern building. Elan’s stylish inline glass finish has been carefully designed to meet the uncompromised needs of modern applications such as this one, where washrooms are a vital part of the overall user experience. In this instance the system featured 10mm toughened opaque float glass doors with 12mm compact laminate divisions providing user privacy.

The architectural finish of the Elan glass cubicles is much in keeping with the striking features throughout this modern construction project.

The finish included protective antislip adhesive pads and anti tamper fixings, ideal for use in areas of high footfall such as these. Petal’s popular P300 duct access panels with 12mm thick high panels and soft radiused edges was also selected for its performance in such busy washrooms.

The vanity top was specified in a laminated core board, with hinged access panels manufactured in solid compact laminate, supported on a metal subframe. The result is a robust but modern finish, ideal for the busy environment of this building.
