Best in Class Staff Facilities for Commercial Office Setting
Petal’s extensive installation of quality washroom, shower and changing facilities achieved an outstanding result for this premium commercial city centre venue.
At design stage, the focus on the Shipping Office – 8 storeys of prime office accommodation situated where Dublin’s Lime Street meets Sir John Rogerson’s Quay – was to achieve an exceptional experience for users of the building. With 1,200m2 of roof garden, 5 large terraces, 27 showers with extensive changing facilities, 16 basement car parking spaces, 2 electric charging points and 234 bike spaces, this space certainly goes beyond the traditional office confines.
Working alongside BAM Construction and Henry J Lyons architects, Petal responded to the brief of achieving best-in-class amenities with wellbeing at their core. A double basement level allowed the flexibility to incorporate an array of impressive features, including gym and changing facilities, bicycle and car parking, staff facilities and storage.
No stone was left unturned in the quest to impress and Petal’s line up of premium systems in these two basement levels included glass shower and WC cubicles, APS wall panelling, Solid Surface Troughs & Grooming Tops, bespoke Bench Seating and Action Lockers.
At cubicle level, glass cubicles were chosen for their exceptional durability in wet areas, not to mention their premium aesthetic – especially when selected in black for maximum effect. This colour scheme was carried across to the changing area where it formed part of an impressive duo of colours alongside a pastel pink, both of which were employed for lockers and bench seating.
Robust lockers, in a combination of 4-tier and Z-style formats, provide exceptionally strong and secure storage facilities in a variety of sizing for staff of this building. Bespoke standalone weighted composite moulded bench seating achieves a comfortable and stylish seating area for this changing room, whilst ensuring a system robust enough to cater for the footfall required.
Floating solid surface vanity units and grooming tops create ample space for handwashing and styling requirements and do so in an impressive way – with the matt finish providing an impressive contrast to the gloss finish achieved by cubicles, lockers and benches.
Shower units also contain Douglas Fir hardwood treater bench seating within the stalls themselves, to complete a first class user experience.
Petal also manufactured and installed the premium washroom facilities enjoyed by users at office level. To explore this case study, simply click here.
