Olympic House

Podium Worthy Washroom Installation at Olympic House

A commanding presence along the banks of Belfast lough, Olympic House provides Grade A office accommodation across its 7 stories. A new construction project of this nature demands the finest fit out, and Petal’s sleek mirror housing unit provides the perfect effect for the minimalist styling of this high-class addition to Belfast’s Titanic Quarter. Petal worked alongside Todd Architects and O’Hare McGovern on this £32m project which has achieved Grade A BREEAM Excellent status, in keeping with Petal’s sustainability focus.

The system comprises hand washing and drying facilities in a concealed unit beneath the streamlined mirror surface. In this case integral infrared soap dispensers and hand driers were included but the addition of hand towels is an additional option. Surface etching on the mirror guides the user to the correct location for each stage of the hand washing and drying process. The combination of these elements achieves a clutter free environment and helps prevent hazards from wet floors caused by journeys to wall mounted hand driers. The mirror housing unit is complete with the choice of vanity system, which in this project was an elegant yet practical solid surface trough configuration.

The full project specification included ARC cubicles which feature attractive aluminium divides. These attach to a headrail which, combined with a continuous wall channel and three hinges per door, provide exceptional stability for high traffic areas. The Wenge woodgrain of the cubicle doors extends into the wall panelling across male and female WCs and also into the removable under panelling of the vanity troughs, providing continuity of styling across the washroom facilities.

Petal’s mirror housing unit and the attractive styling of these washroom facilities contribute to the ethos of workplace wellbeing sought by the client.
